We came down that hill. The picture doesn't show how steep it is, but I'm just glad I wasn't driving. Three switchbacks and you're there! The second picture is our campsite. It's lovely, under large evergreens. The third and fourth pictures are the view from our "backyard." One is a closeup of the mountain in the background. It's really beautiful in this canyon. More pictures to follow.

We hlped prepare a dinner for Air Force families. Fred taught a class after dinner. Tomorrow, we will go to our destination, Twin Rivers Canyon Resort in far northern Idaho.

Beale AFB, CA

We're at Beale AFB, in northern California for the next week. This is the home of the U-2. So I've included a picture of the U-2 in flight and a harbiger of Spring. The hills are the Sutter Buttes to our west. The lower hills are the Sierra Nevada foothills to our east at sunrise. And of course a picture of the campground and the lake (or pond) behind the clubhouse.

Summer Assignment
We have our summer assignment. We will be camphosts at Twin Rivers Canyon Resort near Sandpoint, Idaho. Our time will run from 1 May until after Labor Day. We're excited. The resort is at the confluence of two rivers and is only a few miles from the Canadian border. We will work four days a week. That leaves three to explore.
