Rafting on the Kootenai in North Idaho and Montana

Seventeen miles of small rapids, calm waters, eagles, osprey nest, water so clear you can see the bottom. Beautiful river!

The Selkirk Loop

The Selkirk Loop is an international drive that circles the Selkirk Mountains following the Kootenai River, Kootenay Lake (in Canada) and going as far south as Lake Pend Oreille (pronounced Ponderay). It encompasses parts of British Columbia, Washington and Idaho. We took very few pictures of this trip. The ferry ride across Kootenay Lake was lovely.

Around the Moyie River

In mid-July we decided to explore the Moyie River above Moyie Springs. There is a road that roughly follows the river. It was quite beautiful. The road ended at Highway 95 near the Canadian border at a place called Good Grief, Idaho, which boasts one cafe!
